Search function is extremely slow. When I read the details of a particular offer, there is no way to get back to the list of all offers. When I tab to read the comments of a hostel it brings me back to the list of all offers instead of showing me the comments. Really, really slow and bad working app. The only plus: I can filter the offers so that only hostels with private rooms available are shown.

This "app" is just a wrapper for the site hostelbookers.com. There is no "local" UI (making the app feel sluggish), no offline features, just bad.

Cant sign in (cut and paste password from 1password) slow and buggy - avoid using this to book just to search

There must be a login feature and reviewing must be possible. Just booking is not enough.

I cant see my reservation, only search for hostels.

Just a simple wrapper around the mobile version of the website (no offline functionality) no additional functionality and no maps support (which would be very useful for a service that provides information for travelers/backpackers). Not worth installing.

The app is missing a few features, one important one being able to select how many people are booking rooms. So far it only supports booking for 1 person. But if youre a Lone Traveller this app works great!

So far I havent had any problems with it freezing or shutting down. The app works very well. I only have one complaint: any time you go back to the homepage it resets the dates so you have to put them in again. Not a big deal though.

We have had nothing but problems with this company. We have booked a couple hostels with them only to find out after fact that the hostels did NOT HAVE ROOMS! They make you pay a non-refundable desposit which is proving to be near impossible to get back now even though the hostel we booked has told us they have no rooms. We have been left stranded to struggle to find a place to sleep in extreme busy season in certain countries. Would never recommend them or ever use them again.

Use another hostel booking company. This company has taken my deposit for 7 nights. I was emailed immediately after that the hostel did not have the rooms available for those dates. Hostelbookers refused to refund money. Customer service is horrible. Only care about money. Do not use this joke of a company. This is a common problem, just google it, you will see. They use non-refundable in their booking service. BUYER BEWARE!!

When travelling its completely useless. You cant login.

The app is so slow I deleted it. I dont have time for poorly designed or slow loading app when I can go to hostel world and click away to where I want to be while this jerky app is still loading.

This app is good for what it is intended to do. It helps you find and book a hostel. The drawback of this app is that it is basically the mobile website in a wrapper. This causes it to be a bit slow as it works as a web app. The purpose of an app is to enhance a users experience and this does not take advantage of why people get an iphone. I use the website a lot when travelling but I will be honest, I will remove this in place of a bookmark to save space on my phone, since it is the same as the mobile site. My challenge to the developer is to really play around with the iphone sdk. Make it better and faster experience for your customers, or I will keep using airbnb and hostel world.

No difference whatsoever from the mobile site in safari. That being said, the site and the hostelbookers service is excellent!

The app (which is just the mobile version of the website) is attractive, streamlined and works very well -- but why is there no option to login to ones account? This seems ludicrous and inconsistent to me, and while the mobile version of HostelBookers is solid I will nonetheless avoid using it for this reason.

Not too bad I guess. I give it four stars because they dont charge a fee and its pretty useful most of the time. I would give it five stars if I didnt have to select from a drop down menu every time I do a search. Also it has its slow moments. Would be nice to have a search box to enter key words. Searching for a bed is tedious enough as it is.

This app is just a shell of the website. So dont bother installing it and just rather use the website. At least you can use your browser then to bookmark pages, forward and back buttons etc.

Same thing that has already been said. Just use the website instead, then you can log in as well.

This is a pain to use and worse than the mobile site which this app is basically just a wrap of. Its clunky and awkward, and I cant even figure out to get back to search results after entering a single hostels page without redoing the search. Please make a native app, guys.
